University of New South Wales (UNSW) energy researchers have claimed advancements in the use of structural engineering and controlled architectural design as a technique to fine-tune materials to have simultaneous high power and high energy density for electrochemical storage in portable devices. The developed material, which comprises of molybdenum ions implanted into cerium oxide nanoflakes synthesized to a uniform thickness at ANSTO's Centre for Accelerator Science, has shown promising properties for application as an intercalation pseudocapacitor.
