Cable Extruders Market - Growth Drivers and Challenges
Growth Drivers
- Expansion of Infrastructure Businesses - In emerging nations, the use of cables and wires has significantly grown as the number of wavelengths has increased. In recent years, infrastructure companies have become important economic drivers. Residential, civic infrastructure, commercial, and industrial establishments are using more cables due to expanding electricity distribution and supply networks and telecommunication network circles. It is anticipated that there will be a greater need for Cable Extruders due to the demand for new cable installation and upgrading work, which will increase cable manufacture.
- Vast Distribution of Network - Because larger transmission capacity extruded cables are employed, related technologies may now be applied at much higher power and transmission levels in places where paper cables were previously used. Because of the much lower degassing burden and improved scorch performance, stable production effectiveness has been boosted and the cable manufacturing phase has shortened. Longer transmission lengths and tighter integration of remote renewable energy sources are made possible by this. More sustainable practices will result in more efficient energy use, which will benefit utilities. Increasing the quantity of renewable energy that can be supplied to the grid will contribute to the acceleration of energy transformation.
Challenges
- High Setup Cost - An increase in the setup costs for cable extrusion machines drives up the cost of manufacturing since these devices are very significant and require ongoing maintenance. Consequently, this drives up the final user's cost. Consequently, the cable extruders market expansion for Cable Extruders is hindered.
- Fluctuation in Raw Material Prices is set to hamper the market growth in the forecast period
- Evolving Regulations are predicted to hamper the cable extruders market growth in the upcoming period

Cable Extruders Market Segmentation:
Extrusion Type Segment Analysis
In terms of extrusion type, the single layer segment is predicted to account for 40% share of the global cable extruders market by the end of 2035. The dominion can be attributed on the account of the fact that single-layer cables are simpler and cheaper to produce than multi-layer cables. They are also perfectly adequate for many applications such as low-voltage power cables and communication cables. Single layers need less material and a simpler extrusion process making them more cost-effective to produce than multi-layer cables. Single-layer cables can be produced more quickly than multi-layer cables as there is only one layer of material to be extruded. These are the significant factors driving the segment growth in the Cable Extruders market in the forecast period.
Application Segment Analysis
Based on application, the automotive & transportation segment is predicted to account for 25% share of the global cable extruders market by the end of 2035. Modern-day vehicles are evolving with electronic components and requiring a complex network of cables for various functions. This includes power transmission, data transfer, and control systems for braking, steering, airbags, and entertainer systems. Additionally, the automotive sector uses a wide range of cables with particular properties. Furthermore, the automotive sector widely relies on automation in production lines. This translates to a demand for Cable Extruders that can integrate seamlessly with automated processes for efficient cable manufacturing. China's share of global sales accounted for around 33 %, making it the world leader in auto industry industrial robot sales.

Recent Developments
- In Q4 of this year, NKT will begin producing high-voltage power cables in the new extruded tower constructed at the Swedish high-voltage plant in Karlskrona. A significant component of the company's ongoing investment in its high-voltage power cable industry is the tower. Backed by a record large order backlog and an optimistic market forecast fueled by the shift to renewable energy, NKT launched a capital program in its high-voltage facilities in 2020. The addition of a new extrusion tower to the Swedish facility located in Karlskrona was a crucial aspect of the scheme. In the continuous high-voltage business investments, NKT has recently finished the construction and is beginning to manufacture the tower during Q4.
- Together with industrial clients, the Tønder factory supplies car OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers. In addition to increasing production capacity and offering the ability to create extrusions with wider cross-sections, the new 12-inch, 6000-tonne extrusion press will primarily service the automobile industry. Hydro Extrusions has a network of specialist factories around Europe to cater to the automobile sector. The design of the new press at Tønder will be the same as that of the 12-inch automobile press now in use at the sister facility in Székesfehérvár, Hungary.
